Circuit City is set to announce official company relaunch at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on Monday January 8th at 3:00 PM PST during a special press event.
Circuit City CEO Ronny Schmoel said the company will relaunch its e-commerce website on February 15 and eventually roll out small-scale versions of its stores as kiosks, store in-stores and other experimental settings.
Circuit City is an iconic brand in the Consumer Electronic industry, established 1949 and relaunched under new ownership in 2016.
This will be Circuit City's second attempt at a comeback.
According to Twice.com, which first reported the Circuit City reboot, some of the site's features will be "videos, virtual vignettes, search-by-photo, augmented reality and real-time tech support via video chat".
The new incarnation of the company will also operate stores within other stores before making a leap to its own retail locations.
This time around, Shmoel says the company is also planning to open retail kiosks and stores-within-stores.
Shmoel said products will include audio-visual items, computers, gaming, imaging small appliances and smart home products, according to the Twice.com report.
Once a major electronics retailer, Circuit City was one of many retail chains that saw sales collapse amid the rise of ecommerce operations like Amazon.
