Inspired by the beauty and artistic style of the age, Total War™: Three Kingdoms breathes life into the heroes of this fascinating period as they struggle to unite China under a single banner. The studio just released a brand new announcement trailer to introduce fans to the world of Total War: Three Kingdoms, making good on their promise a year ago that more historical titles were in the works!

In November, Creative Assembly discussed the direction of its historical games-teasing scant information on what would become series spin-off Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia, Rome 2's Empire divided DLC, and a then unnamed "brand new era" in the process. You can check out a trailer and official description for Total War: Three Kingdoms, below.

Whether or not my Dynasty Warriors dreams come true in a tactical manner, this game will tackle the regime of Dong Zhuo and take place smack dab in the middle of the Han Dynasty.

Total War: Three Kingdoms Announced – Total War Goes Dynasty Warriors This Fall

Watching the trailer above, it looks like Total War is eager to embrace these legends, rather than seek complete historical accuracy. But hope yet blossoms. Eventually, three heroes will swear allegiance to one another and will rise up with the support of warlords from the great families of the country's ancient era, banding together to challenge his rule. "The future of China will be shaped by their hands, but personal ambition threatens their already crumbling alliance". While other potential platforms have not been announced, the game will be released on Steam and is available to be added to wishlists now.

Though the video is a cinematic representation, it is incredibly exciting - especially for those that are fans of the Creative Assembly franchises.
