Filled with chatter about karate kicks and dance moves, the first clip of David Letterman's exclusive interview with former president Barack Obama was released Wednesday afternoon by Netflix, in advance of its Friday premiere. "Then Sasha pulls me up, which surprises me because she always mocks my dancing, but I have 'dad moves.'" Cue the presidential dancing advice for dads across America.
He continued: "So, you've got to stay in the pocket". When the Grammy victor invited his daughter to the floor to dance, Obama says he was "surprised" that Sasha pulled him up with her.
While his wife is known to bust a move in public, Obama has rarely been seen letting loose on the dance floor. "I think the key is what we call staying in the pocket", he added, much to Letterman's amusement.
Barack Obama: So, you've got to stay in the pocket. "And you know, they start doing like karate kicks and all kinds of stuff".
The show's in-depth interviews will take place both inside and outside a studio setting.
In the clip, Obama recalls musician Prince's performance at the White House in June 2015.
The full episode which includes Letterman's interview with Obama is scheduled to be released on Netflix on January 12.
Episodes for the hour-long, six-part series will be rolled out once a month, with future chats confirmed with Jay-Z, George Clooney, Malala Yousafazi, Tina Fey and "shock jock" extraordinaire Howard Stern.
