Tessa Thompson took to twitter on Tuesday, January 9, to clarify comments she previously made about Lena Dunham's involvement in the Time's Up Movement. News, citing an anonymous source. Therefore, I never thought I would issue a statement publicly supporting someone accused of sexual assault, but I naively believed it was important to share my perspective on my friend's situation as it has transpired behind the scenes over the last few months.

Also that month, Dunham wrote an essay in Variety praising Antonoff, who was also a member of the band.fun and has produced songs for Taylor Swift, Lorde, Pink, and St. Vincent. The original post featured an image of Dunham, Michelle Williams, Reese Witherspoon, Rashida Jones, Tracee Ellis Ross, and Emma Stone - all major actresses who pledged their time and money to the Time's Up initiative.

Are you shocked Lena and Jack have broken up after five years together? It's safe to say that the breakup comes as quite of a shock, especially since the two have been embroiled in engagement rumors fairly recently.

In August 2017, Dunham and Antonoff shared adorable moments of them at the MTV Video Music Awards via social media. Back in November, Dunham Tweeted out a story about how she thought she overheard Antonoff talking about proposing. However, according to Thompson, Dunham's participation didn't go much further than the photo op. Dunham posted screenshots from their FaceTime session including one where Antonoff was eating a banana, and one where he's eating a sandwich.

The pair were last seen together this time a year ago at a pre-Grammy party, however, she did write an essay about Jack for Variety in October 2017.

It's worth noting that Dunham has consistently been in hot water for her reported lack of cultural sensibility and blatant tone-deaf views on feminism. "I told Lena everything about my whole life, because when you really like someone, you want them to know everything about you", Antonoff told New York Magazine in 2014. "They are moving on", the insider added.
