Some also gathered a list of some of the bands for Louis, and pointed out that just because a band might be new to you or you're unfamiliar with their genre doesn't make them unworthy of being part of Coachella. The Weeknd performed at Coachella in 2012, but long before his career fully took off. Grammy-winning Eminem will debut at the festival.

Beyoncé has performed at Coachella as a guest performer in the past, and was supposed to headline the festival in 2017, USA Today reported.

It's official - the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival lineup has been announced, and The Weeknd, Beyonce and Eminem are headlining Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively.

The desert festival, which grossed a record-breaking $114 million past year, hosts a diverse selection of artists and genres.

This year's line-up also reflects the success of hip hop and R&B last year with other acts across the weekend including Tyler the Creator, Migos, SZA and Post Malone.

Some of the biggest names in music will descend on the two-weekend event in Indio, California, in April. The Man, Haim and the War on Drugs; electronic acts include Odesza, Kygo and Jamiroquai.
